01 - Overview

Charter The Unknown is a startup on a mission to help others explore their unknown, assist those in need, and do their part in making the world a better place. With hearts yearning for open seas and eyes on the look out for new experiences, they set out to embark on an adventure of a lifetime. As a young married couple, they sold everything to sail the world and find new meaning in their lives hoping to encourage others to do the same.

02 - Challenge

Our challenge was to create a brand and develop a marketing strategy they could rely on to guide their content creation and grow their audience on their YouTube platform. Along with this challenge, we were also tasked to create their first announcement vlog. We were so excited for our friends’ new journey and felt honored to be apart of the project. The first friends they decided to tell were living in Northern Ireland at the time. We felt it would be the perfect setting to film their big announcement, so we packed up our equipment and embarked on a little journey of our own.

We are a young married couple that by American standards had it all: a 2,112 sq ft house, 11 acres of land, a new car, a new truck, a very lucrative business with plenty of new equipment, and a reasonably secure financial future. But after an extremely challenging conversation with my mom, we realized something had to change. Working close to 50 hours a week for 9 years, even if it did build our small empire, just didn’t seem sufficient. After the conversation with my mom, often times we felt challenged, tested, and reflective.  We realized we wanted to see the world, meet new people, and help others find fulfillment and meaning in their own lives. So, we decided to sell everything, including our house, car, truck, and business, so that we could buy a boat and sail around the world.
